Artist bio

Steve Brown has lived in New Zealand for 52 years, leaving the UK in 1972, via Australia for one year, finally settling in Auckland where Whangaparaoa is now his home offering an abundance of inspiration for his artwork.
He started his artistic journey at a young age, eventually channelling his artistic side into his freelance Visual Merchandising Business in 1983 always leaning on his artistic abilities to express his visual images, creating many award-winning window displays and the only ever 3 times winner of “Best Stand” award at Auckland Showgrounds.
Now retired Steve can dedicate his time to his true passion, art in all its multifaceted forms. His artistic expression transcends conventional boundaries inviting viewers into a dynamic relationship, both abstract and interpretive, that evolves with each observation. The titles of his works offer glimpses into the depth of each creation. He recently exhibited at Whangaparaoa Library and has now opened his own studio on the Peninsula.
